The
Directorate of Distance Education was established in
1996 with a view to impart higher education through
distance mode with multi-media approach as a non-formal
supplementary mode of education apart from conventional
formal system. The University has emphasized upon the
introduction of Distance Education in the light of UGC
and Distance Education Council guidelines to cater to
the needs of
Students
who had to discontinue their formal education owing to
pecuniary and other circumstances
Students
from remote areas
Students
who had to discontinue their education because of lack
of aptitude and motivation, but later on become
motivated
